Well Water Systems
Water is the foundation for life, and if you’re like most homeowners, you want water that is clean and safe. However, unlike those with municipal water service, private well owners are responsible for water quality and safety. The Water Source offers a complete range of single tank and dual tank water systems from leading manufacturers, including Kinetico and Water Care, to ensure your household has clean, healthy, and great tasting water for cooking and cleaning. We even have connectivity for your refrigerator, ice maker, and water dispenser.
Well water system benefits
Safe drinking water: The well water system removes harmful contaminants like iron, sulfur, bacteria, and parasites that can make you sick.
Improves plumbing: The water softeners in our well water system prevent the hard water and limescale build-up that damages plumbing and appliances. It also prevents stains on your laundry, sinks, tubs, showers, and fixtures.
Appliances will last longer: Mineral deposits and stains in the water heater is the primary cause of leaks and premature failure. A well water system improves the performance of your water heater and other appliances.
Prevents bad tastes and odors: Eliminating smelly and bad tasting water will allow the entire family to enjoy crystal clear, clean, and pure water.
Reduce costs: With pure water that tastes like spring water, you will no longer want to buy bottled drinking water again. Also, your appliances will use less water and detergent, saving money and improving the environment.
Common well water problems
Bacteria, viruses, and parasites: Many homeowners that use well water also have septic tanks for sewage. Leaks in the septic system can cause raw sewage to leak into the soil and contaminate the well water. It is a leading cause of coliform bacteria such as e.Coli in well water. Also, leaks or damage to well casings can create the conditions for bacteria, viruses, and parasites to infect the well water.
Foul odors and bad taste: Sulfites naturally present in groundwater creates hydrogen sulfide gas when exposed to oxygen, which causes that offensive "rotten egg" smell. It can also give the water a bitter aftertaste. You may even spot yellow stains on your laundry, dishes, coffee maker, and other appliances and plumbing fixtures. Also, concentrations of minerals, bacteria, and other contaminants accumulating in the faucet and other plumbing fixtures can make the water taste and smell bad, which is also unhealthy to consume.
Hard water: Hard water is a common problem with most well water. It is due to elevated levels of minerals, including iron, calcium, manganese, and other dissolved solids in the well. Its harmful effects can be devastating. Hard water clogs pipes and damages appliances requiring frequent repairs and replacement. It can also cause red-orange or dark stains in the sinks, tubs, toilets, and other fixtures requiring frequent cleaning.
Low pH: Pure water has a pH level of 7, but heavy or frequent rain can lower the pH balance in the well, making the water more acidic. Acidic water is very corrosive and can slowly eat through metal pipes leaching iron or lead into the well. It also changes the appearance and taste of the water.
How do well water systems work?
Our well water system is a water filtration and purification appliance that uses a reverse osmosis (RO) process to safely and efficiently remove up to 98% of impurities in water, providing crystal clear, clean, and healthy water throughout the entire home.
We recommend connecting the well water system to the primary water connection that supplies the water to your entire house for the best results. It will filter and purify both hot and cold water. The untreated well water will first flow into a RO filtration tank that removes minerals, heavy metals, and other contaminants. Clean and pure water is then distributed to all faucets in your home. The RO system automatically regenerates itself, giving the entire house an uninterrupted flow of clean, clear, great-tasting water from every tap or faucet.
An optional under sink drinking water system with an ice maker and drink dispenser connection will provide pure water in the kitchen for ice, beverages, and cooking.
